The trouble with most rugged cases, especially those claiming to be waterproof, is that they are too bulky for everyday use. Additionally, getting your iPhone in or out of such a case can take several minutes not to mention a masters degree. The Concord Keystone ECO slim case ($49.99) is changing that with its slim waterproof case.
With the ECO slim case, your iPhone slips into a one-piece clamshell unit, and a latch secures the device in a watertight enclosure. This makes it very easy to switch cases as desired, and since you cannot charge the iPhone while it is in the Keystone case, this is important.
Another weak point of most waterproof cases is their screen protection design. Some vendors, like LifeProof (now owned by OtterBox), have found a way to leave the screen unprotected (a.k.a. naked) through clever use of silicone gaskets that form a seal. The problem is, they do not protect the screen from physical damage.
Fortunately, the Keystone case does cover the screen and manages to do so with a touch-friendly material that makes it easy to use with multi-touch gestures.
Perhaps the best news is the price. Selling for $49.99, the Keystone slim case is more affordable than many waterproof cases and is available in assorted colors.
