I was already impressed by Liquipel's nanotechnology that lets them take your existing technology and make it waterproof, but at CES, I was able to see a demonstrating of their new SKINS Impact Screen Protector ($24.99-$34.99). While most screen protectors are designed to prevent scratches, this protector is designed to take the brunt of serious impacts and keep your phone safe.

Their demo was impressive and thorough, and while I won't be taking a hammer or shoe to my iPhone 5s any time soon, it was nice to see them do it! I don't usually use a screen protector on my iPhone, because I'm always testing new cases, and a cheap screen protector could get ruined when constantly swapping out the case. This skin is well made and rugged.

It's usually a hassle applying screen protectors, but this was repositionable until I got it just right. This is important because with the iPhone 5s, I didn't want to block any part of the fingerprint reader, rendering it less effective.

If you want a subtle approach, as I did, you can choose an unobtrusive color like white or black, or one of the bright colors the iPhone 5c comes in, like green or yellow. The screens are compatible with both the iPhone 5c and the 5 or 5s. It's nice to see Liquipel extending their line of protection solutions and even nicer to see that the SKINS are made in the USA!
