When I last wrote about Invoxia's AudiOffice, I had one complaint... its lack of Lightning support for modern iOS devices. Fortunately, its new device fixes this. I actually had another minor complaint—its name, which led me to joke that it was an accessory for Audi automobiles! In the latest version, the mixed-case name is gone, now simply called Audioffice ($299).
The newer Audioffice is an elegant accessory, with a companion app, invoxia(free) that turns your iPhone, iPad, or Android device into a full function conference room speakerphone. You also can use internal and alternative apps like FaceTime, Skype, etc.
I loved using the previous generation with my 30-pin iPhone 4S, and the new version allows me to do the same with my iPhone 5 and iPad mini. Smaller devices can mount directly on the included dock, and it can cradle tablets in the back, connected via USB or Bluetooth.
The Audioffice offers more than just conference calling. The speaker element is extremely solid and works great with music. The newer version has been enhanced with a new passive radiator to increase performance of bass and an overall higher sound quality. The handset is handy and comfortable, and it's easy to switch off the speakerphone and make those important conversations private.
The Audioffice connects via Bluetooth, USB, or the included Lightning, 30-pin, or micro USB adapters, so it's compatible with just about anything in today's office and is future proof!
The Audioffice from Invoxia has won numerous awards, including CES Innovation (full disclosure, I was one of the judges) and if you're fortunate enough to try it, listen to the sound quality, feel the heft, and run your hands along the sleek unit; you will understand why!
