A few weeks back, I posted about the simple animated stylings of the YoWindow weather application (Free). Without confusing graphs or charts—you can relax and watch the animated weather unfold on your iPhone while it's doing nothing more interesting than refilling power on it's dock. Now YoWindow is universally available for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, and later this summer, a Windows 8 version cometh as well.
I'm a sucker for animated screens. I admit that I get as excited as a monkey with a blowtorch when I see stuff moving around on the surface of my iPad. So, yeah I like the YoWindows concept. This isn't a review of the universal app, because as far as I can tell, it's the same, other than running in portrait or landscape natively on my iPad mini. In case you missed the review, YoWindow allows you to swipe your way through a 2D visualization of the local weather conditions. One item is missing that the new version could use: Weather alerts... but if you are looking for a soothing and enjoyable weather app, you might want to try it out.
