If you’ve ever used a stylus with an iDevice, chances are you’ve either worried about losing it or already have lost a few. But thanks to AEGLO, those days might just be behind you. The Hong Kong based company has developed and produced the FLAXUS, touted as the world’s first wearable mobile stylus.
FLAXUS is unique for a couple of reasons. For starters, its design is a result of the need to combine functionality with style.
One of the company’s founders commented:
“The global stylus market currently consists of 'pen' shaped items that require users to carry them in their pockets or bags, which can be not only cumbersome, but uncomfortable and distracting. We set out to design a functional stylus that could double as a bracelet, solving the complaints filed by many former users. With Flaxus, the stylus can be placed on the user’s wrist when they are on the move.”
The Flaxus also is designed as a unisex product, with seven different colors composing its initial run, known as the CHEZZ Collection. It is compatible with all kinds of devices, and is made in a faux sewn style from premium grade silicone which allows you to wrap around your wrist when not in use.
Another key reason why the Flaxus is catching on is because of its successful Kickstarter campaign beginning in February. According to Jack Chau, the creator of Flaxus, they needed $10,000 to cover both manufacturing costs and to bring it to market. The project was fully funded by April 12. Chau said AEGLO exceeded its goal by offering a variety of pledge packages for early donors, reaching 441 backers at the campaign’s end.
One of the pledge packages offers two FLAXUS styluses with an extra set of conductive stylus tips for both ends for $24. With the FLAXUS, AEGLO looks to give iDevice users a hand in expanding their productivity without limiting movement or sense of style.
