As usual, crowds of people lined up at Apple Stores around the world this morning, eager to buy the new iPad. About 750 people were lined up at the Apple Store on Fifth Ave. in New York City, though that was smaller than the 1,200 last year. If the crowds were smaller this year, it may have been due to the 8 am time as opposed to 5 pm last year. Also, this year it was possible to pre-order the iPad, unlike last year. And it's not just the waiting crowds that were excited about the new iPad.
